Program's Overview

The Master of Science in Taxation program is designed to meet the growing demand for highly trained professionals with specialized knowledge in the field of taxation. This program aims to equip students with the critical skills and comprehensive knowledge necessary to navigate the complexities of tax policies, regulations, and practices across various sectors. By focusing on taxation, the program seeks to develop experts who can analyze, interpret, and apply tax-related concepts and strategies effectively in industries such as mining, fishing, agriculture, education, agro-processing, manufacturing, health, and rural and urban development.

The primary objective of the program is to enhance the taxation landscape by producing professionals with a profound understanding of tax laws, methodologies, and practices. Graduates will be well-prepared to take on roles in tax planning, analysis, advisory services, and compliance across different sectors. Additionally, the program aligns with the African Union’s Agenda 2063 objectives by fostering professionals capable of contributing to the sustainable development and economic prosperity of African countries, including Rwanda.

Structured with a strong emphasis on practical application and critical thinking, the program integrates social science methods into the study of taxation, enabling students to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world tax challenges. A prospective student to enroll in the first year of Master’s Programme in Taxation must have successfully completed Bachelor’s Degree program in Management (Accounting, Finance, Banking, Procurement, Logistics, Business Administration,…),Economics, Statistics Applied to Economy and from other related fields may be admitted or experience in the field of at least five years.
