Program's Overview

The Master of  Applied Criminal Law (LLM-ACL) at INES-Ruhengeri is a comprehensive two-year program designed to address the specific needs of the Rwandan Judiciary and beyond. The program is tailored for legal professionals who currently hold only a bachelor's degree in law, offering them advanced training in criminal science, criminology, and criminal procedure. This specialized education equips graduates with the practical skills required to excel in complex criminal investigations, prosecutions, and trials, thereby fulfilling the growing demand for highly qualified practitioners in Rwanda and internationally.

Graduates of the LLM-ACL program will be well-prepared for a variety of career paths, including roles in the National Public Prosecution Authority, the judiciary, private legal practice, and consultancy. The program also serves as a solid foundation for those pursuing further academic research or advanced studies in criminal law and criminology, including PhD programs.

A prospective student to enroll in the first year of Master In Criminal Law should have the Bachelor’s degree in Law and any other related discipline or experience in the field of at least five years.
