The Bachelor of Science in General Nursing with Honors program at
INES-Ruhengeri is designed to equip student nurses with advanced clinical
skills, specialized knowledge, and ethical competence, enabling them to deliver
high-quality patient care across diverse healthcare settings. This program
fosters leadership abilities, preparing nurses to contribute to healthcare
decision-making, advocate for patient rights, and effectively manage patient
health conditions. Additionally, it emphasizes critical thinking skills,
problem-solving, and evidence-based practice, all essential for nurses in their
roles as caregivers and advocates.
The program integrates Rwanda's 4X4 Health Workforce Initiative, which is part of a broader effort to increase the capacity of healthcare professionals. As part of this initiative, INES-Ruhengeri collaborates with the Ministry of Health and other institutions to enhance the training and production of qualified nurses who will meet the growing demand for healthcare workers. This collaborative effort is vital to achieving the national health goals and ensuring universal health coverage by 2030.
